Established in 1981, the Academy for Community Education is an alternative public high school for grades six through 12. Students who have not fulfilled their full academic potential in regular high school are taught here through a full-service program that includes "moral education, parenting, mentoring,and a year-round athletic program" according to the website. Thought they work in a a small "family" atmosphere, their methods are effective on a large sociological scale. Students who struggle in other public schools quickly excel at ACE, whose percentage for success far surpasses the district average. Condos are available in nearby Villa Zamora, Gables View Condos, and Douglas Grand Condos.
